Hyperion Lab launches 9 promising AI and HPC startups in collaboration with NVIDIA and EscherCloud

Amsterdam, Netherlands, May 10th - Hyperion Lab, in partnership with NVIDIA and EscherCloud launches its second Showcase Program to highlight the latest AI and HPC innovations in the industry. During a six-month program, European and Dutch startups are coming together to collaborate, innovate and experiment, using EscherCloud and NVIDIA hardware and expertise.

After a successful first program launched during World Summit AI in October, Hyperion Lab, powered by NVIDIA and EscherCloud, is launching its second Showcase Program at its Kick Off Party on May 12th. Hyperion Lab, an innovation space located in Amsterdam Southeast, brings together a vibrant ecosystem to accelerate and advance green AI (Artificial Intelligence) and HPC (High-Performance-Computing). By bringing together and scaling up an international AI and HPC community, Hyperion Lab aims to become the go-to place for AI and HPC technologies.

During its first program the 8 startups raised funding, partnered, and piloted with one another and the lab’s ecosystem. The lab hosted and participated in monthly events to engage the hottest startup innovations from Europe with the Amsterdam community through UvA’s Tech020, MIT’s European Career Fair, and a private investor dinner with over 15 local deep tech VCs. The lab’s partners, NVIDIA and EscherCloud, not only provided access to their high performance computing platforms but also to their best tech expertise to accelerate and support the innovation and development of the startups on the program through expertise days and collaborative projects.

Some of the many successes included:

  • Ellogon.AI piloting on the UbiOps platform on EscherCloud
  • Sateleads landed the Startup Visa for its co-founder making the lab one of the latest facilitators for the startup visa
  • Natuition opened its second office in Amsterdam during the program demonstrating their growth

“Participation in Hyperion Lab opened for my company huge networking and business perspectives in the Netherlands. We are about to start a new product range thanks to the contacts I’ve obtained during the multiple events with investors,” said Vladimir Modylevskii, NATUITION.

The second batch of startups starting at Hyperion Lab can look forward to yet another exciting program as the Lab’s network and opportunities expand. The lab continues to improve on providing support for startups to expand their talent within the Netherlands and access more funding from its investor network. In addition, alumni UbiOps is now partnering with the lab to provide its platform to the new batch of startups to provide even easier access to deploying and maintaining algorithms on the high performance compute provided through the lab.

“We have another amazing batch of startups joining us from fashion and proptech to edtech. The EscherCloud team looks forward to continuing to help both our alumni and this new batch on their growth plans. EscherCloud is proud of the Lab’s work on bringing together the greatest minds and the latest technologies that address challenges across various industries. The Showcase Program is a great opportunity for the community to come together and develop the next generation of AI innovations. The mission to support these promising companies and build out the AI ecosystem on the foundations of Amsterdam’s excellent science base and inspiring startup climate is close to our hearts” says Sana Khareghani, CSO at EscherCloud.

Celebrating startups from the first showcase program

The AI and HPC startups attending the kick-off party represent the latest innovations in the sectors of smart cities, fashion, agritech, edtech, and HPC. Each startup is a member of the NVIDIA Inception Program, which provides access to NVIDIA’s cutting-edge technology, deep learning training and expert sessions, including a chance to take part in matchmaking services to top technology and business mentors, including Jörgen Sandig, Marc Teerlink, and Michael Koenka, who will all be there! The Hyperion Lab Kick-Off Party is also an opportunity to celebrate successes of the first batch, showcasing the breadth of services startups gained through work with Hyperion Lab.
